So apparently this title got cancelled and I didn’t notice.
That happens to me more than I’d like to admit.
But now the long drawn out nature of the last couple of issues makes a lot of sense. And this final issue wasn’t any less long winded and a bit of a let down. The way the world worm is stopped is literally by Xavier’s ghost coming and saying “I’m proud of you, Son.”
Really?
That’s what you went with?
Meh.
The real question now is what is up with Legion? Did his physical body get completely destroyed and now he’s living in Ruth’s mind? What does it mean that she basically got time traveled back to just after Xavier’s death? And what of the time traveling man who claims to be a decedent of Xavier?
I don’t think we’ll ever know… that’s comics for you…
I don’t think it’s so much that it got cancelled as it is that Legion’s current story came to an end. Apparently the new Nightcrawler solo was supposed to be the next star of X-Men Legacy.
Quite frankly, I’m highly disappointed with this ending. Seriously, we got a “and it was all a strange dream” ending. I mean seriously? And he had the nerve to say he didn’t want a world-changing ending. I mean did this guy even read any of David history? Does writing comics make you lose all concept of cause and effect? If David never existed then Gabrielle Haller’s life would have turned out differently, so would Moira’s since we don’t know how her care of his would have influence her research. Destiny could still be alive. Lorna and Hevok would still be in space since Rogue never would have been able to borrow David’s teleportation to get out there. Honestly, it’s a piss-poor ending to what had been an otherwise good run.
Cancelled, finished, potatoe, potato.
But yeah, it was a piss-poor ending that just kinda came out of his ass and leaves way to much open to interpretation and is pretty lazy as well.
Ugh.
Except for the X-Men Legacy #300 special. Which reminds me, I want to check with my LCS that it’s definitely on my list. ‘Cause Rogue!
Ah, yes, the special, which will supposedly answer some of our left open questions… supposedly… maybe… who the heck knows…
