X-Men: The (fan fic) Series
Showrunner / Executive Producer: JayCee

Script Consultant: ginchy
Production Designer: Sheepykipz
What is X-Men: The (fan fic) Series?
It is a series of fan fiction short stories about the X-Men done in a mock-tv-series fashion.
The stories are written in prose but are of a length in keeping with a standard television show running time and formatted the same way with a teaser, acts, and a tag.
It airs on FOX* on Friday nights at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central time (6pm Mountain/5pm Pacific).
*I will post each short story in its entirety on Friday’s at this time. I say that it ‘airs on FOX’ because I am attempting to write this as if it was an actual tv-series which would air on the FOX channel. This means it will have FOX-typical product placement and fit with the general tone of their typical style of television series.
This series is in no way affiliated with FOX, Marvel or anyone else and is for entertainment value only.
What about all this other stuff?
I will also be posting news related to other live-action superhero endeavors, especially the new X-Men movies and live-action tv-shows as they directly relate to my idea of a live-action X-Men tv-series. I will also post reviews and other random bits of information as extra content.
Why are you waiting so long to post the first episode?
Most American network tv-shows start their run in September and that is the model I am following. Why not start in Feb as a mid-season replacement or in June as a Summer Season show? Waiting till Sept 2013 gives me time to get the first season polished, start on the second season, and get this blog up and running the way I want it.
How will the Series be posted?
Following the format of most American television series, the first season will encompass 23 episodes plus a pilot episode. These will air once a week with the occasional break and winter break, then the season finale will air right before summer. There will then be a summer break before the second season ‘airs’.
As each episode will have six ‘chapters’, all six chapters will be posted at once on the Friday ‘air date’ and be linked through a blog post, the right hand nav bar, and the Episode tab at the top of the page.
If it is a tv-series, then will it follow tv-series rules like a set cast?
Yes, I try to take into account things like fx budgets, location shoot budgets, guest stars, product placement, you name it! And there are ‘series regulars’ in my ensemble cast just like a tv show. There will be plenty of guest characters planned.

Why does this show “air” on Fox?
I answer that question here.
What kind of universe is this? Comic-Verse? Movie-Verse? Evo-Verse?
The universe is the realistic movie-verse style being that this is envisioned as a live action tv show. But it will draw plot points and character traits from everywhere, including comics and the animated shows. You’ll notice a lot of inspiration comes from the first Uncanny X-Men run. I will always try to give credit where it is due in these cases.
Will this be a rehash of the comic books then?
No, while you will see the inclusion of characters and plot points from famous arcs, you will also see new twists on those arcs, such as turning the Sentinel from a robot into a mutant-hunting A.I. computer program.
I am attempting to remain faithful to the characters and the stories that we all love, but at the same time using the fact that this is a confined series which has the luxury of knowing where and when it will stop, as well as having decades of material to pull from, to create a more compact and streamlined story for the modern age.
Why are you doing this?
I like to write fan fiction. I like the X-Men. I had a story in mind (which started as a Rogue/Gambit story), it escalated, and next thing I knew I had so much material, not only of Rogue and Gambit, but of most of the main X-Men cast as well some of the minor characters.
Throw in ideas from Chellerbelle and the rest snowballed from there…
Who is JayCee?
JayCee started writing fan fiction in the Star Wars universe over on the Jedi Council Forums. After the Star Wars universe broke her heart, she gave up fan fiction for a bit until she rediscovered an old love, X-Men. She then posted her first X-Men fan fic X-Men: Among Thieves.
On a personal level, she loves to write, to game (tabletop RPG and console), and to watch way more tv and films than is decent. She still likes to go to conventions, even dress up as comic book characters.
Who is Chellerbelle?
Chellerbelle was bitten by the writing bug at a young age. Her first fan fiction stories were written about the 90s TMNT animated series, although she had no idea they were called “fan fiction” at the time. Sadly, she no longer remembers what her 8 year old self would have written, only that her teenage self thought they were stupid and threw them out. She wrote Hanson fan fiction for a number of years, and has surpassed those years writing X-Men fan fiction.
In between wanting to get back to writing original stories, Chellerbelle loves playing computer games and reading. She’s happily married, has two cats, and collects funny shirts.
Who is ginchy?
ginchy is a Star Wars fan fic writer who is also an X-Men fan who is very protective of Storm. She reads the completed scripts to check for continuity errors, awkwardness, and other general issues that JayCee and Chellerbelle might miss by being too close the scripts.
Who is Sheepykipz?
Sheepykipz is an artist that can be found on deviantArt here. He’s responsible for all the graphic designs on the website which are not specifically noted.
What about Marvel and Fox?
As far as I know, this fan fiction does not violate Marvel or Fox’s licensing or copyrights. I do not claim any character as my own (except Original Characters) and admit to this being based mostly off the first Uncanny X-Men run of comics. Content is only original in how I’ve put it together.
No profits are made through the production of this fan fic, it’s the same as if it was being posted on a fan fiction site such as FanFiction.net. It is for entertainment purposes only.
