Reports from ComicBookMovie show that while Hugh Jackman hasn’t officially been signed on to be in Days of Future Past, he is in talks. This makes me wonder why he’s ‘still in talks’ while McKellen and Stewart are already signed in. Could it be that this role is going to be more than a walk-on cameo and therefore they need to work out pay, schedule, etc? This would lead creadence to my thoughts that Wolverine may be the time traveler instead of the Kitty Pryde.

Apparently he ‘hasn’t read the script’ yet according to this article noting that the man is getting a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (go Hugh!). If it’s just a cameo, would he really need to know that much about the script? Did he bother to read all of First Class or did Vaughn just tell him “Okay, so, Xavier and Magneto are out recruiting mutants, I have an idea for a scene where they walk up to you, try to introduce themselves, you tell them to f-off, it’ll be hillarious”.

UPDATE: here is a video of him saying to MTV that he hasn’t read the script yet and he is a bit cagey which means to me that there is likely more than just a cameo going on

We have the reveal of the official Man of Steel one-sheet poster.

Man of Steel Official Poster

Man of Steel Official Poster

First off, what’s up with the lens flare? Was there not enough on the Star Trek Into Darkness poster so they decided to pick up the slack? And what the heck, Supes cuffed? Obviously he is allowing himself to be imprisoned… but why?

Perhaps if the trailer wasn’t so un-Superman tonaly we might be able to read some kind of noble ‘self sacrifice’ from this… but instead it’s just more ‘oh, let’s be all dark and gritty!’ instead of, you know, having an actual Superman movie.

Superman Returns was too soft. Man of Steel is going to be too hard. We are Goldilocks waiting for something just right…

ComicBookMovie has posted more details on the auditioning that is going on for the CW’s new Wonder Woman tv series, Amazon. They are clear to mention that the scenes could just be for audition purposes, or from various scripts not the pilot, and that CW still hasn’t greenlighted this series either.

It looks like there will be a ‘fish out of water’ theme as one of the scenes is about how Diana has ice-cream for the first time and it’s “a very cute sequence”. While this can be fun, I hope that’s not going to be overused.

On a random note, if they want to make this a realistic series like Arrow… I smell crossovers!

X-Men: The (fan fic) Series: Official Synopsis

It’s coming…

There is a silent war which rages within the world of humans, that of mutant against mutant. One side believes in peace, the other dominance.

Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutants is a vast network of individuals who have set about manipulating the world’s governments and scientists in order to ensure their place as humanities rulers once the truth about mutants becomes known to the populace.

Xavier’s School for Higher Learning is a haven for those who wish to learn how to both better the world, and themselves, through the use of their gifts. They do not seek power, only equality.

When Professor Xavier’s hand is forced into action, he’s given a choice: stand by while his former friend tears the mutant community apart, or let his former students stand their ground and fight.

Tune in to X-Men: The (fan fic) Series, Friday, September 13th, 8e/7c, for an all new live-action television series event in fan fiction form.

I did not know this, but apparently the CW wants to compliment their Arrow not only with Booster Gold but Wonder Woman as well. They’ve already looked at casting according to ComicBookMovie.

NBC already tried this and failed, though from what we heard about it that’s a good thing. The lead actress just didn’t fit the part, the costuming department had a stroke, and the background was a bit off base.

CW seems to want to go the way of Arrow, make it ‘realistic’ with her being a warrior raised girl in the big city. Could work… but really depends on how they approach it and whether or not the audience are going to get super-human’d out.

Hugh Jackman joins Stewart and McKellen in reprising their roles for Days of Future Past according to CinemBlend. This was almost a given seeing as Jackman was in First Class and the immortal-ish nature of his character means he can fit anywhere.

I still think he would be a good fit for the time-traveller since, again, he’s old enough to be in both places, but at the same time I don’t want another Wolverine movie. That is what made First Class such a breath of fresh air, it wasn’t “the Wolverine” show like the first three movies.

No word yet on any of the other cast. Famke was apparently up for it in Wolverine so if they call I’m sure she’ll be right there. Paquin just had a kid and got a good thing going on TV so she may not be up for it. I don’t think anyone else of note is doing anything big right now so could see Bobby, Kitty, Beast, etc.

As much as this is cool though, I really want to see this whole thing rebooted so we can have one kick butt Rogue… yes… I do have a one track mind.

A Booster Gold tv series had been talked about, but as ComicBookMovie points out, the idea isn’t dead. The man behind Arrow stated that he’s still working on the project and going to pitch the idea by Christmas.

Booster has a 50/50 chance. I say this because while Smallville did excellent and Arrow so far isn’t too shabby, Wonder Woman got tanked and Booster Gold is not exactly a household name. True, Green Arrow wasn’t one either but he had the bonus of being a major character on Smallville for some time during the end of its run. That at least helped in bringing over the Smallville audience.

This is definitely one of those ‘wait and see’ kind of projects.

CinemaBlend reports that Matthew Vaughn likely left Days of Future Past to work on a Mark Miller adaptation called The Secret Service. Since Mark Miller is in charge of FOX’s comic-book-movie franchises it looks like he wasted no time getting his own project up and running.

According to TVLine, Brett Dalton is the next relative newbie to be brought into the S.H.I.E.L.D. tv series from Whedon.

He’s deadly, precise, and cool under fire — but not so great with the people skills.

So he’s kinda cliché? And it looks like the cast will be a bunch of 20-something hotties with this trend. Sounds about right… that’s the target demo for most tv audiences but I would hope he’d do something for the older audiences too.
