Wolverine and the X-Men #17

I think this is the funniest comic book I have ever read… seriously… from the crazy Nazi Bowling League to Wolvie dressed as Cyclops to a nun representing the internet…

I laughed… so hard…

While the issue did offer some valuable information about Doop and expand his character by leaps and bounds (I never knew he was such a bad-a)… it really was one zany joke after another and all I could do was laugh till I almost cried…

Doop and The Duck… OMG!
I would seriously read a comic of just that… heheheheheheh

It’s go good to be able to pick up a comic and find some laughter and joy… I hope this series continues on this path!

Wolverine and the X-Men #16

The latest issue of WatX is all about Kade Kilgore, what the little man has been up to since the end of Schism to showing up on Wolverine’s doorstep to cause havoc.

Kade is a sociopath, I’m pretty sure. I mean, I’m not psychologist but there is something seriously wrong with him. He’s smart, yes, and clever, but lacks complete and total regard for his fellow human beings. It’s kinda fun.

Aaron has some snappy dialogue (per usual) that really punctuates Kade’s pathy, however, he gets a little overboard in the origins aspect. To be honest, I don’t know if Aaron is creating Kade’s origin or rehashing it for the viewers, but really, the middle of this comic drug and felt like it was trying to hard. But then the end came back around and Kade’s commentary made me appreciate just how mentally stable in his mental instability he is.

Good comic, but really should have taken the lesson “simple is best” to heart.

Wolverine and the X-Men #15

I’m not sure what possessed me to start reading this series because I’m not really a fan of the main characters, Wolverine, Kitty and Bobby… but this is just a great title and #15 literally had me laughing out loud with a lot of the quips and jokes riddled throughout.

Iron Man and Broo was hilarious. Bobby’s comment about strip clubs was just… pure awesome. Not to mention Bobby and Wolvie’s talk was one of those ‘everyone is thinking it’ moments.

And of course, this is the comic series that made me fall in love with Quire and his interaction here with Professor X is golden.

I’ll always prefer the light-hearted and fun over the dark and gritty and this series, esp this issue, delivers in spades without being sappy or on the nose. Definitely worth checking out!
